Company Background

The British Medical Association (BMA) is a professional body representing doctors in all branches of medicine all over the UK.

With a number of staff in excess of 600 and 130,000+ members, the association keeps their member doctors and medical students in touch with the ministers, government departments and other influential bodies regarding healthcare developments and policies. The BMA has a range of representative and scientific committees and is recognised by NHS Employers as sole contract negotiators for doctors.

Requirements

Today Translations was appointed to translate BMA’s PowerPoint presentations concerning Human Tissue Act regulations from English to Japanese. The translated files needed to be technically precise and, at the same time, extremely concise in order to meet exacting layout requirements.

Solution

Today Translations supplied technically-accurate and succinct translations, using native-speaker translators and proofreaders with a minimum of 10 years’ industry experience and DTP experts to ensure the final layout met the cultural requirements of the target audience.

Making use of the latest Translation Memory solutions, our company ensured consistent terminology and cost effectiveness to the customer. In addition, interactive proofreading was incorporated during the various stages of the English to Japanese translation to guarantee the end product was grammatically accurate and technically perfect.
