Proof-reading

Proof-ReadingAt Today Translations we believe the very process of translating a document implies proof-reading, thus our translation rates are already inclusive of this service. Nevertheless, proof-reading is also available if your translation has been done elsewhere. Always performed by an independent translator, proof-reading involves the process of reviewing copy-edited manuscripts, documents, or websites for errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and layout.

We also provide independent multilingual proof-reading services to software companies. Because the first translator doesn't often have access to the software he's localising (the original text is usually translated in Word or Excel files), our multilingual proof-readers will make sure that the translation matches not only the original but fundamentally the very context where it appears.

Today Translations have in-depth proof-reading expertise in the following sectors:

Multilingual proof-reading is far more complex than just nitpicking flaws. Because at least two different languages are involved, a multilingual proof-reader, in practice a second translator, is often required to make a considerable amount of changes to the translated text, whenever semantic differences between source and target texts are spotted.

So, by choosing us, you will make sure that your translated document has been seen by at least two professionals, thereby minimising the chances of compromising mistakes.

Proof-reading may seem minimal at the first glance, but its importance is overriding nowadays. A blunder in a corporate leaflet may sink your company's reputation forever. On the other hand, visitors' first impression of your company's website is the one that will last in their minds long after departing it. If the basics are flawed, your chances of gaining or retaining a customer are drastically reduced.
