The Real Eurovision
Home > Press Room
Even if Andy Abraham's vocal cords failed to impress the hearts and minds of the European public, he was the gala's top crooner, an international poll reveals. The lively performance of "Baila El Chiki Chiki" (Dance the Chiki Chiki) from Spain's Rodolfo Chikilicuatre was second, while the Turkish interpretation of "Deli" by Mor ve ötesi made it third.

Today Translations invited their 2,700+ pool of linguists spread all over the globe to vote for their favourite Eurovision 2008 performance.  It was found that countries in Asia, Middle East and North Africa (with a combined population of over 4 billion), seem not only willing to do business with the UK, but have a soft spot in their hearts for the country as well.

With a total world population standing at over 6.6 billion, the outcome of our survey showed a significant difference in results compared to those of the Eurovision, when non-participating nations joined in to share their views.

Sir Terry Wogan would certainly think twice about quitting if he saw these results!
