The British Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce has bagged the award for European Chamber of the year.
The award was announced at the 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe (COBCOE) in the City of London’s Guildhall. It serves as a recognition for the entrepreneurial and creative talents that promote trade links between Great Britain and its partner countries, both within Europe and further afield.
Today Translations’ managing director, Jurga Zilinskiene, a Lithuanian national and member of the British Lithuanian Chamber, was there to pick up the trophy with a selection of her colleagues. “We weren’t expecting to win at all,” she said. “To be honest, none of us thought we stood a chance against the larger, Western European states.”
“It just goes to show that the spirit and drive to succeed is truly alive and well in my native country. Obviously, I’m absolutely delighted,” Zilinksiene said.
Lithuania is certainly a nation to keep an eye out for. A recent poll published in the Baltic Times stated that more than half of its adult population (54 per cent) would like to establish their own company. With the right initiative, the country, its people and its trade partners could certainly demonstrate the ideal initiative for a thriving future.
Given the close links between Today Translations and Lithuania, naturally we specialise in strengthening trade links between Britain and the Baltic States, whether it is through our professional translation services, our expert project management or our localisation planning and consultancy.
