You and I need this protection – ASAP

A major initiative I’ve worked on with the Fraud Advisory Panel for the past 18 months revealed how awfully difficult and distressing it is for victims to recover their losses following a fraud. Hope is now to be found in a series of 16 recommendations that were published today.

Having spent most of my life trying to protect citizens and businesses from the cruel, cunning actions of criminals it is not something I could drop when the time came to surrender my police powers. As a Director of the UK’s counter-fraud watchdog and an Advisor to the Board of Today Translations, a leading translation company, my passion to safeguard the interests of honest, hardworking people is stronger than ever.

I’ve met many business people who have fallen prey to fraud and suffered devastating consequences. In the language sector, many linguists operate as small businesses and losing a few thousand pounds to crime can be life changing.
These are serious issues and I would encourage you give your support to them and lobby others to do likewise. Small business is the lifeblood of Great Britain – we mustn’t let criminals bleed SME’s dry! Click here to read the sixteen recommendations.
